Everyone deserves a decent place to live

Since 1985 Habitat Sarasota has addressed the need for affordable homeownership in Sarasota. Through our affordable housing and critical home repair programs, we have helped 400 families improve their living conditions.

Affordable Homeownership

Habitat for Humanity Sarasota builds affordable homes in Sarasota, FL. Upon completion, the homes are sold to income-qualified families in our affordable homeownership program. Our unique mortgage terms allow the monthly payments to be less than 30% of the gross household income. Our critical home repair program is a resource for homeowners that need help with aging in place, modifications and repairs to remove health and safety barriers.

Community partners help us accomplish our mission. Our programs are funded through foundation grants, partnerships with local government and charitable gifts. Each home we build requires hundreds of volunteers.

Habitat Sarasota operates a ReStore that was voted Best Used Furniture Store in Sarasota by the Herald-Tribune Reader’s Choice Awards in 2021. Our campus located at 2095 17th Street features three stores that sell gently-used furniture, home decor, home improvement materials, and much more to help fund the mission.

Lives Transformed : The Campaign for Hammock Place

The impact of Habitat for Humanity Sarasota is generational.

Together, we build.

Fiscal year ending June 30, 2021, Habitat Sarasota served 21 families through our affordable homeownership and critical home repair programs. This was made possible by the support of 101 volunteers who contributed 6,817 hours on our build sites. Thank you to the 392 people who gave us a charitable donation.
