Every volunteer
makes a difference.
Habitat for Humanity Sarasota relies on volunteers to support our mission. Future Habitat Sarasota homeowners build their homes in partnership with volunteers, which helps to keep the homes affordable.
We welcome volunteers of all skill levels; no experience is required. Volunteers must be 18 years or older.
How to Sign Up
To get started as a volunteer, please go to the Volunteer Hub and follow the instructions to “Create Account”. Once your account has been created, you can then sign up for available volunteer shifts right away.
Habitat Sarasota has volunteer opportunities every week, weather permitting. Our volunteer shifts are from 7:30 am to 12:00 pm on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Weekday volunteers are our greatest need.
Each volunteer shift starts with a morning briefing and training delivered by our experienced Habitat Sarasota construction team members.
Preparing for Your Shift
- Habitat Sarasota provides all of the tools and training you will need for your shift.
- Volunteers must wear closed-toe shoes (sandals, flip-flops and bare feet are prohibited)
- We recommend long pants or jeans, but shorts are allowed.
- We recommend clothing that can be permanently stained.
- We suggest volunteers wear sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat as there is often very little shade.
- Snack and drinks are provided.
