Florida’s Community Contribution Tax Credit program (CCTCP) offers tax incentives for corporations that seek to support affordable home building. Habitat Sarasota partnered with FCCI Insurance Group to construct a new home for a working family. In additional to a financial contribution, FCCI employees and family members are volunteering on the home for a minimum of 200 hours.
Habitat Sarasota broke ground on August 7, 2014. Future homeowner, Ms. Perez is working side-by-side with FCCI volunteers and other Habitat Sarasota volunteers to make her dream of home ownership a reality.
Despite the forces of nature, and the daily rains, the volunteers were out in force, with shovels at the ready, preparing the lot for the pouring of a foundation.
FCCI volunteers can be found regularly on the construction site and have constructed the walls in record time.
