Habitat for Humanity Sarasota celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2025, commemorating four decades of building strength, stability, and self-reliance through affordable homeownership. Since its founding in 1985, Habitat Sarasota has been dedicated to serving Sarasota families in need, transforming lives, and strengthening the community one home at a time.
Over the past 40 years, Habitat Sarasota has partnered with thousands of volunteers, donors, and community leaders to make the dream of homeownership a reality for local families. Through innovative programs such as new home construction and critical home repair, the organization continues to tackle Sarasota’s growing affordable housing crisis while also providing essential repairs to eligible Sarasota residents.
“As we reflect on the past four decades, we are incredibly grateful for the unwavering support of our volunteers, donors, community partners, and advocates who have made our mission possible,” said Renee Snyder, President and CEO of Habitat for Humanity Sarasota. “While we celebrate this milestone, we also recognize the continued need for affordable housing in our community, and the need for critical repairs for some of Sarasota’s most vulnerable residents. We remain committed to positively impacting the lives of families in need in Sarasota.”
In honor of this significant anniversary, Habitat Sarasota will serve 40 individuals throughout 2025, furthering its mission to provide affordable homeownership and critical home repairs to those in need.
