The future is bright for another family

Summer is coming to an end and Samantha is preparing to start the new school year – from home. Her anxiety about her family’s living situation is gone. She is focused on setting up a home learning environment and enjoying moments like family bike rides.

Samantha and Michael recently closed on their Habitat Sarasota home and they already see the positive impact the home is making on, Owen, 7, and Cooper, 14 months.

“I feel more capable and able to provide the type of environment and experience that I want my children to have. I feel more settled and at ease knowing that we have a permanent place to call home. I don’t have the ongoing stress of worrying about rent increases and where we will live if we have to move.  Not having that stress has made me a better mom. I can focus on other things, like playing with my sons.”

Instead of being stuck indoors with no space to play. Owen and Cooper spent the summer making the simple childhood memories that every child deserves to make.

playing in the sprinkler,
sidewalk chalk drawings,
swinging from a tree,
family bike rides,
playing in the yard

The entire family is enjoying these simple pleasures, after moving from an apartment complex without outdoor play areas.

“Owen feels more secure and settled in his new home. He is excited to be home and to learn from home.”

As the school year ramps up, Samantha is grateful to have the option to homeschool. Their Habitat Sarasota home has all the space she needs to set up an indoor classroom for her sons. But what she is most excited about is all the space she has outside for them to explore and learn in.

This is the bright future that Habitat Sarasota helps families build. Together, we build.
